AY Media Services LLC is an independent studio building consumer software and digital media at the intersection of medicine and technology.
We develop and publish native iOS applications, write long-form and educational material on skin and appearance, and consult on healthcare product and content strategy. The studio was founded by a board-certified dermatologist, and clinical accuracy is the standard everything we publish is held to.
The problem we build against
Platform
Our core technical work is a standardized photo capture and longitudinal tracking system for iPhone: sessions captured under controlled exposure and lighting so that images taken weeks or months apart remain genuinely comparable, paired with a scoring layer that turns those captures into trend lines a person can actually read. It is a platform, not a single feature, and it applies to any visible characteristic that changes slowly over time.
Applications
We ship focused iOS apps built on that platform. The first is shimmr, for tracking skin over time. Additional applications covering other areas of appearance and personal change are in development.
Publishing
We produce books and written material on skin, appearance, and how to interpret change in your own body — content grounded in dermatologic practice rather than marketing.
Advisory
We advise on product strategy, clinical content review, and editorial standards for healthcare and consumer wellness companies.
Our approach
Most consumer appearance products sell a verdict. We build tools that show change honestly over long time horizons, are explicit about the limits of what a photograph can tell you, and are clear about where consumer products end and medical care begins.
